Well to say it was the winter from Hell is an understatement! 3 ft of snow, then the Ice Storm. It has taken several weeks to try and clean up the mess, so when we open, projects in the yard and museum will be going on for awhile. Special thanks to those of you who offered to bring your chainsaws and help with the clearing. I will be getting knee surgery just after we open which will slow me down for awhile, as well as work on the museum, which won’t be complete until summer.
We have had to put prices up this year, but with wages, and prices for everything going up we have held off as long as we could. Being seasonal means we have a much shorter window to make the money we need to get by, than a year round business.
I want to thank all the people both in Canada & the USA who saw The Movie Man movie and generously sent us donations for the 58 resident cats here, not to mention 5 new ones that have turned up in the yard. We now have a registered Charity so those making donations can if requested, get a Receipt for Tax purposes. I got an email the other day our friends in the woods have been sighted, last year there were 4 bears, 6 deer, 1 grey wolf, foxes, racoons, skunks, and everything else. I believe since they were here before us they have every right to be here, so we have processes in place to try and keep them there, however if one wanders in we do not recommend customers attempt to make contact with them. Hope to see you all back at the movies! Keith
